Field is a recorder I made because I love sound and wanted the tool I wished existed. Everything runs on the phone and nothing gets uploaded. It’s built around soundmarks, an idea from acoustic ecology about the sounds that make a place sound like itself. Field listens across what you’ve already recorded somewhere and tells you when a new one stands out. What that means is up to you.
